Job Title: Flood Management Specialist

Job Description

Flooding is one of the most significant natural disasters in Pakistan, causing devastating consequences for communities and economies. As a Flood Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of projects that aim to reduce flood risks and promote resilience among vulnerable populations.

The role involves providing technical guidance on flood management strategies, working closely with government agencies, UN organizations, and local stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions. You will lead project teams, coordinate with partners, and ensure the timely completion of project activities while maintaining high-quality standards.

Your expertise in climate change policies, adaptation programs, and Green Climate Fund (GCF) project implementation processes will be essential in developing and implementing successful flood management projects. You will work with diverse groups of partners, including government ministries, authorities, and UN agencies, to build effective strategic partnerships that drive long-term positive impacts on local communities.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to effectively coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels. A proven track record of conceiving, designing, and implementing programs alongside government and UN counterparts will be highly valued.

The ideal candidate will have advanced university degree in Climate Change, Disaster Management, Social Sciences, Agriculture, or Water Resource Management, with at least 7 years of professional experience in flood management, climate adaptation, or disaster risk reduction. Fluency in English and Urdu, as well as other local languages, is required.
