Procurement Specialist – Feed Procurement

Job Description

We are seeking a resourceful and detail-oriented procurement professional with experience in sourcing key forage and feed ingredients such as Rhode Grass, Alfalfa, and Corn Silage.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing procurement operations, supplier relations, and ensuring timely availability of high-quality feed materials for livestock production.

Main Responsibilities
  • Source and procure forage-based feed materials including Rhode Grass, Alfalfa, Corn Silage, and other relevant ingredients.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely deliveries.
  • Monitor market trends, seasonality, and price fluctuations in forage commodities to make cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Evaluate vendor performance regularly and support contract negotiations and renewals.
  • Work closely with the planning, production, and warehouse teams to ensure alignment on material demand and supply schedules.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payment coordination with the finance department.
  • Maintain stock levels to meet operational needs without overstocking, and monitor expiry or spoilage risks in perishable items like silage.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and ensure adherence to internal procurement policies and quality standards.
Requirements & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on procurement experience in the animal feed or forage-based agri-sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Rhode Grass, Alfalfa, Corn Silage, and other livestock feed inputs.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to farms, suppliers, and storage sites as required.
