The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in various areas.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for performing initial assessments, documenting patient information, and following up on patients before being seen by a Consultant.
  • Attend to calls from the ER promptly and perform quick initial assessments, formulating management plans in consultation with the Senior Fellow and Consultant on call.
  • Assist or perform under supervision and document operative procedures in the OR. Perform procedures independently or under supervision as per competency list.
  • Follow-up patients in the recovery room and hand over patients to recovery Room personnel. Perform daily ward rounds with team members, communicating findings, assessment, and plan to the Consultant.
  • Be available on premises when on call and attend to all patient-related issues in the ER or ward. Hand over and take over charge from departing team members when there is a change in duties on call.
  • Facilitate learning of students, interns, residents, and other healthcare professionals at all levels. Design clinical research appropriate to the level of training.
Requirements
  • You should have an MBBS degree from an institution recognized by PMDC.
  • FCPS Part II or equivalent in General Surgery is required.
  • Four years of training in General Surgery in an accredited program are necessary.
  • Competence in common general surgical procedures is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial.
