We are looking for a User Researcher who is passionate about deeply understanding our customers' needs, context, and motivations. You will accelerate innovation and drive value by bringing these insights to everything we do at DigitalOcean. This role will focus on Cloudways, a managed cloud hosting platform owned by DigitalOcean. It is an in person role in Karachi.
As a User Researcher at Cloudways DigitalOcean, you'll join a dynamic team shaping the future of cloud computing and AI. Reporting to the Senior Director of Experience and Research, you'll bridge the gap between users and the business—partnering with product and design teams to generate actionable insights that ensure our products meet real user needs.
You'll lead research across key customer journeys and products, championing applied research and a user-centered mindset throughout the organization. Alongside fellow researchers and strategy leaders, you'll contribute to ongoing strategic programs that advance customer understanding and help shape the team's culture and ways of working.
What You'll Do- Lead Research from End-to-End: Manage every step of the research process, from study planning and participant recruiting to conducting activities, analysis, and reporting.
- Generate Actionable Insights: Partner with product managers and designers to scope and lead tactical research that drives decisions and helps teams understand user needs.
- Influence and Advocate: Create impactful deliverables that clearly communicate your findings and recommendations, spurring teams to action. You'll serve as an advocate for user exposure, empowering peers to center the customer experience in their daily work.
- Contribute to Our Research Practice: Help build and improve research practices, methods, and guidelines. You will also contribute to our centralized research library, increasing the accessibility and impact of every insight.
- Proficiency in a variety of research methods—including statistical analysis, survey design, in-depth interviews, focus groups, concept testing, and usability testing—applied with precision and professionalism.
- The ability to turn research findings into compelling strategic narratives that inspire innovation and guide product development.
- 1–3 years of hands-on research experience, with an emphasis on quantitative methods in a software or technology environment
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Sciences, Statistics, Human–Computer Interaction or related discipline).
- Technical fluency in RStudio (preferred), Python, or Stata, using statistical experiments and behavioral analysis to develop data-driven recommendations.
- A deep commitment to understanding user needs and behaviors through thoughtful, data-informed research practices.
- Expertise in collaborating within multidisciplinary Agile teams to design and deliver people-centered services.
- Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills to interpret complex data, uncover actionable insights, and connect research findings to product performance and strategy.
- A solid foundation in user research, user-centered design, and service design methodologies that drive meaningful outcomes.
- A holistic understanding of Agile roles across design, product, and technology disciplines to strengthen cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
- The ability to turn research findings into compelling strategic narratives that inspire innovation and guide product development.
