Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled
Data Engineer/Data Scientist
with strong Python programming and analytical skills, who can work across the data pipeline from ingestion and processing to modelling and reporting. The ideal candidate has experience handling large-scale (big) datasets, building predictive models, working with live and runtime data (e.g., every 15 minutes), and producing actionable business insights. This role will involve working closely with APIs, cloud services like AWS, and supporting data science and engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
  • Process and analyse large-scale datasets (Big Data) using distributed computing tools and AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, Redshift).
  • Develop and maintain Python-based scripts for reading/writing data via APIs, including serverless execution using AWS Lambda.
  • Automate log analysis through Python scripting and CloudWatch Logs, supporting anomaly detection and system monitoring.
  • Build and deploy basic machine learning models for forecasting, classification, and pattern detection.
  • Handle runtime/live data updates (e.g., 15-minute intervals) for critical dashboards and models.
  • Conduct statistical analyses, A/B testing, and hypothesis testing to guide business decisions.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate challenges into data-driven solutions.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Plotly.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and validation throughout data processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mandatory 5+ years of experience in a Data Science or Data Engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and libraries like Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and basic experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience with Excel for prototyping and quick analytics.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
  • Solid understanding of
    statistics

    techniques.
  • Experience with real-time data processing and designing solutions for live updates.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, Redshift, and Glue.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT workflows, and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing models such as star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modelling.
  • Experience in log data analysis, anomaly detection, and monitoring automation.
  • Strong grasp of data storytelling, data visualisation, and business reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in translating technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
