Job Description:
As a Junior Estimation & Design Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for IT/Electrical projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to analyze project specifications and requirements to develop comprehensive estimates. This is a hybrid position, and you will be required to work according to the Eastern Time (ET) zone. Your role is crucial in helping the company secure profitable projects and maintain a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical work.
  • Review the preconstruction schedule, and contract agreement obligations, monitor deliverables, and maintain product workflow.
  • Present value engineering and cost-saving opportunities to clients as required to meet budget constraints.
  • Recognize/identify potential document discrepancies and errors and develop RFI questions for a timely response.
  • Identify project scope and requirements and draft accurate Request for Quotations (RFQs).
  • Review and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop the scope of work and bid and budget, review bids from sub-contractors, review scopes of work, and analyze costs as bids are received.
  • Analyse and review proposals with the lead to ensure profitability.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecom, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 0-1 year of experience as an Estimation & Design Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and installation methods.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Plan Swift, or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes, such as NEC and NFPA.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid mode while aligning with Eastern Time (ET) zone working hours.
