Being a member of EDW Development Team, Senior Data Engineer participates in designing and deploying databases, stored procedures, complex queries and SSIS / automation jobs.

• Developing and maintaining systems to store, organize, and access data.
• Development of Data Assets (OLAP Cubes, Data Marts, Data Flows, Datasets, etc.).
• Development of stored procedures, triggers and ETL scripts.
• Perform T-SQL code reviews during key points of the SDLC and enforce compliance with T-SQL coding standards.
• Development of advanced reports and dashboards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing database systems, tools and applications using the Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure platforms.

• Development and support tasks related to different components of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure platforms.
• Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is accurately and efficiently captured, transformed, and loaded into the data warehouse.
• Develop, optimize and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts for data extraction and transformation.
• Create and manage data pipelines to facilitate the flow of data between various systems and the data warehouse.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security through robust testing and validation procedures.
• Optimize data architecture and processes for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Develop and generate reports and dashboards using BI tools (SSRS, Power BI) to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data warehouse application performance and resolve issues and bottlenecks.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, data warehousing, and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven ability to provide solutions to complex technical problems in a creative and analytic manner.
• Should be proactive and responsible; able to work without constant supervision.
• Proven success as a team player having extensive experience in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work and communicate in a multi-culture, diverse environment.

EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of proven practical experience as Data Warehouse Developer, as well as solid knowledge of Data Warehousing and ETL concepts.
• 3+ years of experience and solid knowledge of MS SQL Server.
• Solid knowledge of TSQL language; skills to write efficient TSQL code.
• Experience in performance tuning on SQL query / execution plan / data model level.
• Experience with SSIS or any other ETL tool.
• Experience with Power BI, SSRS or any other BI/reporting tool.

• Experience with the following technologies is considered a plus:

• Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory.

• Experience with Big Data (Spark, Hive and Hadoop eco-system) and/or data warehousing technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Teradata).
• Any of the following programming languages: Java, Scala, Python, C#
