Truck Dispatcher – Job Duties (USA-Based Dispatching Company)

  • Load Planning & Coordination
  • Schedule and coordinate freight pickups and deliveries for drivers.
  • Identify profitable loads through load boards and direct shipper contacts.
  • Match drivers with suitable routes based on equipment type, location, and hours of service.
  • Driver Communication & Support
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide route details, updates, and problem-solving support.
  • Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
  • Assist drivers with emergency situations, delays, or route changes.
  • Client and Broker Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers, shippers, and carriers.
  • Negotiate rates and confirm load details with customers.
  • Provide timely updates to clients on load status and delivery confirmations.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping
  • Prepare and manage all dispatch-related paperwork (BOLs, rate confirmations, invoices, etc.).
  • Track shipments and update dispatch systems in real time.
  • Maintain records of loads, payments, and communications.
  • Tracking & Monitoring
  • Use GPS and dispatch software to monitor truck locations and load progress.
  • Ensure on-time deliveries and proactively handle issues like traffic, weather, or breakdowns.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all operations comply with FMCSA and DOT safety regulations.
  • Monitor driver hours and logs to prevent violations.
  • Coordinate with safety teams for incident reporting and insurance claims.
  • Team Coordination & Reporting
  • Collaborate with fleet managers, accountants, and maintenance teams.
  • Prepare daily/weekly dispatch reports on loads, mileage, and revenue.

Requirements:

  • Graduation/A level
  • Fluent in English
  • 6 months to 1 Year experience
  • Knowledge About Truck Dispatching Campaign and Work
