We are seeking a detail-oriented
Medical Biller
to join our healthcare operations team. This role is responsible for accurate claim creation, submission, follow-ups, denial management, and overall coordination with payors and providers. The ideal candidate understands U.S. billing workflows and can work efficiently in a fast-paced, accountable environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit medical claims (CMS-1500 / UB-04) to insurance companies.
- Verify accuracy of patient information, coding, and documentation.
- Perform timely follow-ups on unpaid claims and initiate appeal processes when necessary.
- Manage claim statuses: submitted, pending, denied, paid, reworked, follow-up required, etc.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim issues, eligibility, and coverage.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and minimize claim rejections.
- Maintain accurate billing records and daily productivity logs.
- Coordinate with providers, coders, and operations teams to ensure clean claim submission.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets related to claims output and accuracy.
Who We're Looking For
- Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years in U.S. medical billing (required). - Strong understanding of insurance guidelines (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid).
- Knowledge of billing software, clearinghouses, and EMRs/EHRs.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes (basic understanding acceptable if coder support is provided).
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
