The Opportunity

PriceOye is looking for a Backend Engineer to build upon and improve our existing platforms that will be critical for the business and for realising our goal of becoming the leading destination for mobile phones on the internet.

We strongly believe in supporting what you ship, so every engineer is responsible for the code they deploy, and how it's deployed, always with the customer in mind.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience, ideally in an e-commerce business
  • Strong PHP/SQL knowledge and experience including experience with Laravel framework
  • Strategic and structured approach to web development
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • A hunger for the creative use of emerging web technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills

Primary areas of responsibility:

  • You will design, create, maintain and enhance CMS, databases, web services/APIs required for e-commerce, sales and marketing properties
  • You will actively participate in web development and integration projects
  • You will design, build and enhance web applications in close coordination with frontend development
  • You will be involved in implementing test frameworks and writing test cases
  • You will take over documentation of our applications and enable modular in house and external development
  • You will actively contribute to the web user journey and the creation of features for stakeholders around the world
