Work Hours and Global Alignment:

Standard work hours will vary by role and location and may not follow a traditional 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule. This role requires availability Monday through Friday, with at least 5–6 hours of daily overlap with the U.S.-based leadership team, particularly in the initial phase. Candidates must be able to align working hours across Pakistan and U.S. time zones to participate in key meetings and complete time-sensitive tasks.

Flexibility Expectations:

Flexibility is essential, as meetings and collaboration with international colleagues may occasionally occur outside of typical business hours. The schedule may evolve over time depending on team needs and the individual's demonstrated ability to work independently. Participation in both scheduled and ad hoc meetings, sometimes on short notice, across time zones and outside of regular work hours, is expected

Global Collaboration:

This role involves regular interaction with colleagues and clients across multiple countries and time zones. Candidates must be comfortable operating in a globally distributed, international team environment.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Data Scientist to join our dynamic and collaborative team. In this role, you will contribute to data workflows, support cross-functional projects, and assist in the development and deployment of AI models. You will help transform complex clinical and imaging data into intelligent, scalable solutions that support scientific innovation and operational excellence. This position requires a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and biomedical/clinical research, with a focus on contributing to automation, workflow optimization, and applied research.

Key Responsibilities:

1. End-to-End AI Model Development & Workflow Integration:

•
Contribute to the development and deployment of the full lifecycle of AI/ML model development—from data exploration and research to deployment, validation, and real world application—focusing on medical image segmentation, classification, and clinical data analysis.

• Learn and apply our specialized imaging and clinical workflows and integrate AI solutions seamlessly into existing operational systems.

• Ensure all solutions are clinically relevant, scalable, and aligned with regulatory, technical, and business requirements.

• Translate insights into production-ready tools that improve outcomes, automate workflows, and reduce manual processes.

2. Automation, Infrastructure & Continuous Improvement:

• Analyze manual processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency across clinical and imaging teams.

• Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines for AI/ML workflows, ensuring robust and reproducible model performance.

• Collaborate with data engineers and developers to support optimization of tools, automation of data ingestion, and reducing system friction.

• Participate in application integration and testing to ensure compatibility, functionality, and performance at scale.

3. AI Innovation, Research & Technical Leadership:

• Conduct research and prototyping of novel approaches in computer vision, signal and image processing, and deep learning for clinical and imaging applications.

• Stay current on emerging AI technologies, tools, and methodologies; evaluate and adapt cutting-edge solutions that enhance our capabilities.

• Contribute to internal code quality through documentation, testing, modular design, and fostering best practices in reproducibility and scalability.

• Champion a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the data science function while ensuring alignment with clinical, operational, and commercial goals.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Impact:

• Work closely with clinical operations, software/product, and business development teams to align data science efforts with organizational goals.

• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to assess project needs, communicate progress, and identify blockers or inefficiencies.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in AI, Data Science, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering or a related field, with 1-2 years of relevant experience (academic or professional).

Experience and Skills:

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; ability to communicate clearly with international teams and clients.

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, work across global time zones, and handle confidential information with professionalism.

• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Experience working in a fast-paced development environment

• 1-2 years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML models (academic research, internships, or industry).

• Familiarity with the clinical trial lifecycle, from study start-up to database lock.

• Strong, hands-on experience with Python and core scientific libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-image, PyTorch, TensorFlow) is required. Experience with R, MATLAB, or C++/React is a plus.

• Proven ability in application development with a focus on creating efficient, maintainable, and production-ready APIs and pipelines.

• Experience contributing to AI/ML model development and deployment.

• Strong background in image processing, computer vision, deep learning architectures, large-language models and biomedical data processing.

• Data wrangling & SQL, basic understanding of MLOps tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, DVC, Kubeflow), and basic understanding of frontend development.

• Experience with transformers, Hugging Face ecosystem, LangChain, RAG pipelines.

• Experience with best software engineering best practices, including version control (Git) and writing clean, modular, and testable code.

• Experience in agentic AI framework development (MCP, Claude CLI).

• Comfortable working in fast-paced, interdisciplinary environments with evolving clinical and operational priorities.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical solutions into business impact.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
