We are seeking an experienced
Structural Designer – Steel
to join our engineering team for
USA-based projects
. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and detailing steel structures for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects in compliance with
U.S. building codes and standards
. This role requires expertise in structural steel design, advanced analysis skills, and proficiency with leading engineering software.

Major Job Responsibilities

Material Specifications & Compliance

  • Prepare detailed material specifications in accordance with
    AISC, AWS, ASTM, IBC
    and other U.S. standards.
  • Stay up to date with U.S. steel design codes, fabrication requirements, and erection guidelines.
  • Use specialized software such as
    STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, TEKLA Structures, or ETABS
    for structural analysis and design.

Structural Analysis & Drafting

  • Perform structural analysis to ensure steel structures can withstand various
    load combinations per ASCE 7
    (dead, live, wind, snow, seismic).
  • Create precise and detailed engineering drawings using
    AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows
    .

Code Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure designs comply with
    U.S. International Building Code (IBC), AISC 360, AWS D1.1, and OSHA safety regulations
    .
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and documentation for
    clients, contractors, and U.S. permitting authorities
    .

Component Design

  • Design beams, columns, trusses, bracing systems, and steel connections per
    AISC specifications
    .
  • Develop shop drawings and review fabrication details to ensure accuracy and constructability.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of
    U.S. structural steel design principles and construction practices
    .
  • Strong grasp of
    AISC, AWS, ASTM, ASCE 7, and IBC
    standards.
  • Proficiency in
    STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, TEKLA Structures, and ETABS
    .
  • Advanced drafting and BIM modeling skills in
    AutoCAD and Revit
    .
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities.

IT Skills

  • Proficient in
    Microsoft Office Suite
    (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
  • Familiarity with cloud collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint, Google Drive).
  • Experience with project management software (
    MS Project, Primavera
    ) is an advantage.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Civil or Structural Engineering
    (Master's preferred).
  • 5–10 years
    of relevant structural steel design experience, preferably for
    U.S.-based projects
    .

Education & Experience

  • Minimum
    5–10 years
    of relevant experience in steel structure design.
  • Professional Engineering License or certification is a plus.
