SEO Intern Job Description

Position Overview: An SEO Intern will work closely with the digital marketing team to learn and assist with search engine optimization strategies, helping improve website visibility and organic search rankings.

Key Responsibilities:

Content & Research:

  • Conduct keyword research using tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Ahrefs
  • Assist in creating SEO-optimized content for websites, blogs, and landing pages
  • Perform competitor analysis to identify opportunities and trends
  • Research industry trends and search engine algorithm updates

Technical SEO:

  • Help audit websites for SEO issues (broken links, missing meta tags, site speed)
  • Assist with on-page optimization including title tags, meta descriptions, and header tags
  • Support in improving site structure and internal linking
  • Monitor website performance using Google Analytics and Google Search Console

Link Building & Outreach:

  • Identify and research potential backlink opportunities
  • Assist with outreach campaigns for guest posting and link building
  • Monitor and analyze backlink profiles

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Track and report on keyword rankings and organic traffic
  • Create regular performance reports using analytics tools
  • Analyze data to identify trends and optimization opportunities

Required Skills:

  • Basic understanding of SEO principles and digital marketing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Search Console (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
