Rotary Engineer

Qualifications and Competencies:
- Candidate possessing an Engineering degree in Mechanical Discipline from a PEC-recognized university.
- Sound understanding of rotating equipment interaction with process, controls, and safeguarding.
- Working knowledge of regulatory Industry Standards and Codes like API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM.
- Must be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies as well as interpretation of the data (Vibration monitoring, oil analysis, thermography, etc.).
- Knowledge and working experience in troubleshooting high-speed rotating machinery.
- Should be familiar with the Permit to Work (PTW) system, safety procedures, job safety analysis & emergency response system of a Refinery / Fertilizer / Petrochemical.
- Demonstrates exceptional operational safety leadership, self-starter, and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple activities.
- Demonstrates ability to work cohesively in a team environment and independently as required.
Experience:
- 5 - 8 years of working experience in Rotary equipment of a Refinery / Fertilizer / Petrochemical industry.
- Hands-on experience regarding thorough Maintenance of Rotary equipment working in a running Refinery / Petrochemical / Fertilizer industry.
- Hand-on experience in troubleshooting/failure investigations and developing engineering solutions to repetitive failures that adversely affect plant operations (i.e. capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance) by applying Data analysis techniques.
- Working experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of compressors, pumps, fans, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, and their auxiliary systems.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures equipment is fit for purpose through maintenance planning and execution, scope/spare decisions, design reviews, HAZOP, MOC, installation, and commissioning processes.
- Monitors the history and condition of rotating equipment to determine and prioritize major maintenance scopes and requirements, including obsolescence aspects. Provide business case justifications as required to support required budgeting and timings.
- Develop a reliable database and structure by studying & evaluating installed equipment and implementing worldwide best practices.
- Lead the troubleshooting and repair of rotary equipment and machinery including repair plans, and root cause analysis and ensuring that lessons learned are shared and implemented.
- Provides direct support in the field for major maintenance execution of machinery scope, using effective quality plans and provide timely close out reports that provide lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Develops multi discipline knowledge in relation to rotating machinery applications and contributes to Area Maintenance Strategy development and execution through machinery scope development for major maintenance planning and execution.
- Manage and provide technical support to mechanical contractors to ensure accurate scope completion, proper documentation updates, and standards compliance.
- Provides input and decision-making on the repair or refurbishment of major spare parts.
- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
- Supports the Area in achieving key outcomes in safety, reliability, efficiency, compliance, and cost.
- Provides support regarding technical, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all mechanical equipment and rotating machinery including compressors, pumps, fans, turbines, blowers, gearboxes, and their auxiliary systems.
- Review and approve mechanical and machinery PMs, work instructions, and related procedures and provide feedback and recommendations for changes as necessary.
- Review the quality and completeness of mechanical equipment and machinery PM execution at assigned plant locations and provide technical support with planning and execution.
