Role Overview
We are seeking a
Global Access & Port Policy Consultant
to support trade and infrastructure-related engagements centered on Gwadar and broader regional connectivity in South Asia and the Gulf. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in trade facilitation, logistics reform, or port-linked development seeking to contribute to high-impact policy and strategy initiatives.
You will work on diagnosing policy bottlenecks, analyzing logistics frameworks, and supporting institutional partners in shaping more resilient and integrated trade corridors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and diagnostics related to port operations, economic zone integration, and trade access dynamics
- Draft strategic reports and policy notes addressing regulatory alignment, customs modernization, and infrastructure planning
- Map institutional frameworks and stakeholder roles in port governance and regional corridor development
- Analyze cross-border trade patterns, access constraints, and logistics performance indicators
- Contribute to client deliverables for government agencies, development finance institutions, and multilateral initiatives
- Track developments in regional economic cooperation and connectivity agendas, including CPEC-related trade corridors
- Translate technical findings into clear policy recommendations and implementation frameworks
Qualifications
- Degree in International Trade, Public Policy, Development Studies, Infrastructure Economics, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in trade policy, port strategy, logistics planning, or development consulting
- Familiarity with South Asia–Gulf connectivity projects, SEZ governance, or customs/trade modernization is preferred
- Experience working with donor-funded or multilateral engagements is an advantage
- Strong written communication and research skills; ability to synthesize complex topics for decision-makers
- Fluency in English required
