EOT Crane Operator

Purpose of the Position;

The Overhead Crane Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating overhead cranes to lift,

move, and place materials, equipment, as required in the TG Hall, Pump House, Boiler & Cooling Tower

Gearbox area. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, proper load handling, and supports

smooth process or maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities & duties;

1- Inspect crane and lifting accessories before use to ensure safe working conditions.

2- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), load charts, and safety guidelines while handling loads.

3- Communicate effectively with senior staff, load testing team, & riggers staff.

4- Maintain daily operation and inspection logs.

5- Identify and report any mechanical faults or maintenance requirements.

6- Ensure proper rigging of loads with slings, hooks, and shackles as per safe lifting practices.

7- Assist in maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of the crane gearboxes & top up oil of existing equipment.

Qualifications & Working Experience:

 Matric/DAE in Mechanical or a related field.

 Experience in Power plants projects.

 Minimum of 08-10 years of experience in the field of Power plants (Steam & Gas Turbines) & High

pressure boiler.

 Technical knowledge of crane operations.

 Safety awareness and compliance.
