UI/UX Designer

Why This Role Matters

You'll design the actual experience people have with Superbaking: the chat flows, screens, and micro-interactions that make an AI baking assistant feel trustworthy, clear, and enjoyable - not like yet another generic chat bot.

You'll be working on a mobile app (React Native / Expo), in close collaboration with engineers and a senior UI/UX mentor. But this is not a "junior support" role - you'll own real flows, make decisions, and ship Figma files that go straight into production.

We are specifically looking for someone
based in Pakistan
(Lahore preferred, remote within Pakistan possible).

Must-Haves

• 2–4 years
  of professional experience designing digital products (mobile-first strongly preferred)
• Strong portfolio with
  end-to-end flows
  , not just dribbble-style shots
• At least a few projects showing: problem → user flow → wireframes → high-fidelity UI
• Solid grasp of
  mobile UX patterns
  (navigation, onboarding, forms, error states, empty states)
• Proficiency in
  Figma
  (components, variants, auto-layout, styles, basic prototyping)
• Ability to design within (and help evolve) a
  component-based design system
• Comfortable working from
  requirements and constraints
  , not just inspiration
• Good written and spoken English; able to explain
  why
  a design is the way it is
• Ability to work
  autonomously
  day-to-day: manage your own tasks, ask for clarification, and push designs to "ready for dev" without hand-holding

Nice-to-Have / Learn-on-the-Job

• Experience designing for

  (explanations, uncertainty, model limitations, guardrails)

• Basic understanding of front-end concepts (React Native, component trees, how devs consume your Figma files)

  or habit-building products (fitness, cooking, etc.)

What You'll Do

• Own
  specific product areas
  of the Superbaking mobile app
• e.g. onboarding, "create a bake", timeline view, image analysis flows, progress tracking
• Translate vague product ideas into
  clear user journeys, flows, and wireframes
• Create
  high-fidelity mobile designs
  in Figma that engineers can implement with minimal ambiguity
• Contribute to and help evolve our
  design system
  (components, states, icons, typography, spacing)
• Design for real-life edge cases: poor connectivity, errors, partial data, AI uncertainty, user mistakes
• Work closely with a
  senior UI/UX mentor
  to improve your craft - and then apply that independently
• Collaborate with engineers to keep
  design and implementation in sync
  and resolve trade-offs pragmatically
• Iterate fast based on feedback from users, the team, and data (once we're live)

You'll collaborate directly with:

  occasionally (for product direction and feedback)

If you can explain why your design exists, not just what it looks like, you'll fit in very well.

Our Approach to AI

We use AI everywhere - from powering the baking assistant to speeding up internal work (copy variants, state lists, UX copy, etc.) - but never on autopilot. At Superbaking, AI is a power tool, not a substitute for thinking.

As a designer, you'll:

• Design

  AI limitations (hallucinations, uncertainty, timing)
• Make interfaces that help users understand
  what the AI is doing and why
• Use AI as a helper (for exploration) but keep ownership of the final UX/UI

Contract Details

• Type:
  Long-term contract (no expiration)
• Remuneration:
  Weekly tax-free remittance of gross amount

• Paid Time Off:
  Eligible after 3 months (8.08% of worked hours, cash-out anytime)

Hiring Process

1. Portfolio Review
   – we review your past work (Figma links, case studies, Dribbble/Behance is fine if it shows flows, not just shots)
2. Design Exercise
   – a realistic product task similar to our actual work (well-scoped, paid if it goes beyond a small task)
3. Interview
   – discussion with the Senior Designer and Tech Lead (and sometimes the CEO) about your process, decisions, and fit
