JOB TITLES:

  • Controls MI Manager - Band E, x1 role

  • Controls MI Assistant Manager - Band D, x1 role

  • Controls MI Consultant - Band C, x3 roles

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, in the office. Although the role will generally work to IST, the nature of the services provided to IP&I means that the successful candidate may be required to work outside of IST on occasion.

About this Opportunity

The role will be critical in building a modern data/technology led approach to assist our business areas to proactively monitor and assure their control environment and enable proactive self-identification of potential control issues.

The roles in the team will be responsible for building control insights through high quality reporting and MI solutions. This will include the building and maintenance of a range of PowerBI solutions to visualise data from the Risk OpenPages system and other sources of control information, with a focus on finding actionable insights to improve the control environment. This will involve working closely with IP&I's onshore Controls Office and the broader IP&I business to provide the necessary and required MI/actionable insight required.

We are looking for individuals who can be innovative, technologically adept and able to build high-quality control reporting/MI with actionable insights.

What you'll be doing

  • Part of a high performing Control Testing, Monitoring & Reporting/MI team to drive excellence in providing a Control Service to IP&I.

  • Work with risk and control owner teams to help deliver against aligned customer, business and strategic outcomes.

  • Reporting on control environment effectiveness utilising data from the LBG Risk OpenPages system and other sources of control information.

  • Assists the development of the first line control management centre of excellence that supports safe growth and enables high quality customer service.

  • Supports the implementation of the control strategy and support with reporting/MI to report on progress against this strategy.

  • Supports the ongoing development of control tooling solutions to enable the optimisation and automation of the control environment.

  • Responsible for the production and maintenance of high-quality reporting and MI solutions (primarily PowerBI or potentially Tableau) to drive actionable insights to improve the control environment.

  • On occasion, you may be asked to support other Controls Office services that LTC provide to IP&I based on business demand

What you'll need

  • Good understanding of controls and their practical implementation across relevant financial services disciplines and risk types.

  • Knowledge and experience of the approaches taken to manage non-financial/financial risk and a good technical understanding of business processes.

  • Good technical understanding with the ability to build a proactive data and technology led approach to control reporting.

  • Good technical understanding of risk and control data and how this is managed in a GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance) system.

  • Good experience and technical understanding of reporting and MI solutions such as PowerBI and Tableau. This also includes knowledge of other Microsoft tools such as PowerApp and PowerAutomate.

  • Takes responsibility for growing their skills and capabilities with support from senior colleagues. Coaches team members others in area of expertise to drive an uplift in skills and risk and control culture throughout the organisation.

  • Provides input into the development of both short- and medium-term control strategies.

  • Uses compelling arguments to gain support and commitment of others through powerful storytelling.

  • Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organisation moving forward. For example, ensures that people's decisions comply with policies and standards. Integrates analysis, experience, and other inputs to make effective decisions.

  • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. For example, encourages colleagues to work together as a team, and make sure they get recognition for doing so.

What we're looking for..

  • Risk & Control Management: Strong risk management, governance and compliance knowledge.

  • Data and Technology: skills and experience with utilising technology solutions and organisational data to build data led control reporting and MI solutions. This will include knowledge and ability to lead the build of PowerApp and PowerAutomate solutions to drive internal team efficiency.

  • Reporting and MI: skills and experience in building and maintaining risk and control MI and reporting products.

  • Stakeholder management: excellent interpersonal and presentational skills, both upwards to director level and downwards.
