Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Perfusionist to join our healthcare team. The Perfusionist plays a critical role in the operating room by managing cardiopulmonary bypass and other advanced life support techniques during surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of cardiac physiology, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

• Operate and manage heart-lung machines during surgical procedures, ensuring proper function and patient safety.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout the procedure.
• Maintain aseptic technique while preparing equipment and managing sterile fields.
• Administer medications and IV infusions as required during surgery.
• Perform venipuncture and IV insertion for patient access.
• Assist in cardiac catheterization procedures as needed.
• Manage inventory of perfusion supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for surgical cases.
• Provide support in pediatric cases, adapting techniques as necessary for younger patients.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement perfusion strategies tailored to individual patient needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (Medical Technology) - Cardiac Perfusion.
• Strong knowledge of basic life support (BLS) protocols.
• Experience with patient monitoring techniques and equipment.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control practices.
• Skills in venipuncture, IV insertion, catheterization, and cardiac catheterization are preferred.
• Previous experience in pediatrics is a plus but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
