Senior Frontend Developer

What is the role?

dotCMS is a cloud-based Universal CMS that is changing how enterprises deploy digital experiences. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Frontend Developer to join our dynamic tech - Debt team. In this role, you will play a key role in a high-impact initiative focused on modernizing our platform, migrating from a monolithic architecture to a headless, API-driven approach. This is a hands-on coding position that requires reliable, and high-quality code.

This is a full-time on-site contractor position based in Karachi. The work schedule is from 3:00 PM to Midnight local time (UTC+05:00), with a one-hour break. We are currently unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of employment visas.

What you'll bring to the team:

● Lead frontend development using modern JavaScript and TypeScript.

● Design and build scalable, maintainable, and performant user interfaces using Angular.

● Contribute to the transition from a monolithic architecture to a headless, component-driven frontend architecture.

● Create intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces with a strong focus on customer experience.

● Leverage AI tools and automation to enhance UI/UX, streamline development workflows, and improve product capabilities.

● Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to shape the user experience from concept to delivery.

● Write clean, modular, and well-documented frontend code, adhering to industry best practices.

● Participate in peer code reviews to maintain high quality standards and foster knowledge sharing.

● Engage in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, product ideation, retrospectives, and demos.

● Effectively communicate design decisions and technical concepts to stakeholders and team members.

● Ensure frontend code meets security, performance, and accessibility standards.

Why we get excited about you:

● 4+ years of hands-on experience in frontend development with JavaScript and TypeScript.

● Deep expertise in frontend frameworks such as Angular (and/or React).

● Demonstrated success working in product-focused environments, solving real user problems.

● Expert-level
HTML & CSS
(responsive, maintainable, clean)

● Experience using AI tools or implementing AI-enhanced UI features is a plus.

● Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams including backend, design, and product.

● Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
