Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer – Data Platform & Operations to design, build, and manage large-scale, reliable, and secure data infrastructure. This role requires expertise in data engineering, operations, and cloud platforms, ensuring that our data ecosystem supports analytics, business intelligence, and advanced data products effectively.

You will play a key role in scaling our data platforms, driving automation, and ensuring high availability and performance across all data operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows across diverse data sources.
  • Oversee data platform operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance.
  • Ensure data availability, reliability, and governance across environments.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and application teams to provide high-quality, well-structured data.
  • Drive automation in infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operations (IaC, CI/CD).
  • Implement strong data security practices and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Lead incident management and root cause analysis for platform issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices for data engineering and operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in data engineering, operations, and platform management.
  • Hands-on experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Flink, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, or Java).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure,) and data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).
  • Solid understanding of Delta lake, data lakes, lakehouses, and warehouse architectures.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and containerization (Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in platform reliability engineering or data operations is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Knowledge of data governance tools (Collibra, Alation).
  • Familiarity with real-time data streaming and microservices architectures.
  • Exposure to ML Ops and productionizing data models.
