About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience who can both lead a team and make active contributions as an individual. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, architecture, and pipeline development, along with the leadership ability to guide, mentor, and manage a team of data professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures.

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, ensuring project goals and deadlines are met.

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and cross-functional teams to ensure data availability and quality.

  • Optimize and improve existing data systems for better performance and scalability.

  • Actively participate in coding, troubleshooting, and system design alongside the team.

  • Ensure best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.

  • Drive innovation by evaluating new tools, technologies, and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7 years of proven experience in data engineering roles.

  • Strong expertise in SQL, Python/Scala/Java, and data pipeline development.

  • Hands-on experience with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehouse/lake design.

  • Prior experience leading and managing a team of engineers.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with machine learning pipelines and MLOps.

  • Knowledge of containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Exposure to BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
