Supervisor Biochemistry

Fatima Memorial Hospital is a 470-bed charitable multidisciplinary institution providing wide spectrum of health care free of cost to the deserving ailing humanity, and on no profit basis to the affording patients. It is a postgraduate teaching institution having FCPS Programme in the disciplines of Surgery, Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Anesthesia, Orthopedics, Radiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Rheumatology, Histopathology, Family Medicine and Dentistry which have been recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission as well as the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan. FMH College of Medicine & Dentistry has been affiliated with the hospital, which has been recognized by the PMC for MBBS & BDS Teaching Programmes. It is affiliated with the University of Health Sciences. Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing is also affiliated with FMH, which is recognized by Pakistan Nursing Council for training in Midwifery, General Nursing, Post Basic Programmes, Post RN BScN and Generic BScN.

It requires the services of Supervisor Bichemistry.

• Supervise staff in the performance of their job description responsibilities.
• Ensure section is adequately staffed at all times.
• Ensure work performed in the section is completed by the established deadlines.
• Ensure inventory of all items needed for the section to function optimally.
• Maintain permanent records of tests, standards, quality controls result, etc. for reference and statistical purpose.
• Implement new procedures/ or modification to existing procedure.
• Provide training and development of section personnel.
• Conduct personnel matters requiring degree of confidentiality.
• Ensure all equipment are operational in the section according to manufacture guidelines and ensure everyone in the section follow the same.
• Perform and document daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance of equipment in timely manner.
• Calibrate all equipment in timely manner and document in the logbook
• Ensure hospital fire, safety and infection control policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Prepare test reports and review accuracy of results before reporting them to physician or other authorized personnel.
• Implement and maintain QC and QA procedures.
• Perform and document quality control daily. Take appropriate action if control of all out-side the established range in timely manner. Make documentation.
• Ensure serum is separated immediately into the clean glass tube after certification Supervise staff in the performance of their job description responsibilities.
• Trained in the safety procedure of the laboratory, which include: protective clothing, wearing white coats, and gloves at all time.
• Check critical value results are being recorded in Critical Value register and Consultants are being informed timely.
• Ensure philosophical, psychological and legal rights of all patients are known, provided for and maintain by the employees.
• Keeps an eye on general cleanliness of the Section and working bench.
