Flavor Chemist

Reponsibility:

• Flavour Development: creating new and proprietary flavors from scratch or modifying existing ones for specific product applications such as beverages, snacks and confections.
• Replication & Matching: Developing new flavors that match a customer's specific vision, or replicating(matching) a competitor's product.
• Technical Application: Ensuring that a developed flavor can be successfully manufactured, and will remain stable when introduced into the final product. This includes considering how the product is processed, packaged and stored.
• Raw Material Management: Sourcing, evaluating, and managing flavor ingredients. This can involve finding replacements for materials that have become unavailable.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all ingredients and formulations adhere to relevant food safety and labeling laws, such as those set by organizations like the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
• Sensory Evaluation: Conducting sensory tests to evaluate and refine flavor profiles. This requires a highly developed sense of taste and smell.
• Market Research: Staying current on food industry trends consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to create popular and cost-effective flavors.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with Sales, Marketing, Quality and Product Development teams to ensure flavor creations align with business and customer needs.
• Safety and Cost Considerations: Ensuring that chosen flavor compounds are safe for consumption, affordable and appropriate for the specific product application.
• Quality Control: Tasting and evaluating flavour prototypes and finished products to ensure quality and consistency

Requirements:

• Education: At least a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific field equivalent.
• Experience: At least two years' experience preferably in a flavor house and/or beverage & food processing industry

Pay: Rs49, Rs50,000.00 per month
