• Graduate
• at least 3 years' experience of dealing with customer / front desk with hands on experience for handling cash
• preferable one year experience of working as a team leader
• business and customer oriented
• excellent communication skill (both written and oral)
• good interpersonal, analytical and decision making skills
• knowledge of medical terminology would be an added advantage
• flexibile to work in shifts

Job Role / Responsibilities:

Patient Business Services Department is a multifunction frontline department of the Finance Division at the Aga Khan University Hospital, deals with all financial matters of the patient from admission to discharge. The prime objective is to provide access of care to all segments of society, keeping intact the adherence to institution's guidelines for revenue capturing and its collection.

You will be responsible for admitting patients in the hospital following the policies laid down in the policy and procedure manual of Patient Admission Office. You will also ensure that all admission related information is kept updated and will also coordinate with Nursing Service to ensure bed availability and as and when require collect inpatient payments. You will participate in committee meetings and prepare guideline for improvement of process and service excellency. 

Specifically, you will be responsible to:

• admit patients in the Admission Discharge Transfer (ADT) system by following the guidelines described in the policy and procedure manual of Patient Admission Office
• ensure that all information relating to patient admission is recorded in a timely and professional manner at the time of patients' admission
• ensure that patients are handled in a polite and professional manner by being courteous and caring so the patient have a positive impact which increase satisfaction
• record and update admission/discharge/transfer on the ADT system according to the process described in the policy and procedure manual of Patient Admission Office
• provide all admission and billing related information to our customers
• liaise with nursing units on daily basis to ensure availability of beds and timely admission of all EL/DI/ED patients
• coordinate with nursing units to ensure that the patient's discharge/transfers are carried out in timely manner resulting in a smooth patients' flow
• provide financial counselling and complete discharge process as and when require
• collect inpatient payment as and when require.
