The Division: 
GNT Systems is headquartered in Kirchheim bei München, Germany, develops and deploys a variety of software solutions (Manufacturing Execution Software [MES], Tool Management Software [TMS], and Computer Aided Manufacturing/Design Software [CAD/CAM]) to manufacturing customers across several industries. With 30 years of experience +1000 maintenance customers, +2000 users and +20,000 connected machines, GNT is one of the most comprehensive providers for the digitalization of production 
 
The Position:
 We are seeking an experienced Software Architect / Team Lead to drive software quality, architectural consistency, and technical excellence across multiple development projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on development expertise with leadership skills to guide teams in building scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions.. 

The selected candidate shall work out of Contour Software Islamabad resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Take overall ownership of software quality across all phases of development — from design and coding to testing and deployment. 

• Analyze and optimize existing codebases (C#, VB.NET, .NET Framework, React, MS SQL) for performance, scalability, and maintainability. 

• Conduct detailed code reviews, refactorings, and performance optimizations in collaboration with development teams. 

• Define, establish, and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines across teams. 

• Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, and system testing), including automation frameworks. 

• Introduce and maintain metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor code quality and manage technical debt. 

• Work closely with DevOps to improve build, release, and deployment pipelines for stability and continuous integration. 

• Lead and mentor development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence. 

• Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability within the organization. 

• Remain hands-on in development, particularly in areas of refactoring, code optimization, and architectural improvements. 

• Shape 

Technical Expertise:

• Several years of professional experience in software development using C#, .NET, and MS SQL (React experience preferred). 

• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and clean code principles. 

• Strong background in test automation, CI/CD, and continuous delivery practices. 

• Experience working with Azure DevOps / MS DevOps for source control, pipelines, and project management. 

• Proficiency in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system optimization. 

• Leadership & Soft Skills: 

• Proven experience leading or mentoring software development teams. 

• Analytical and structured approach with a strong focus on quality and maintainability. 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical direction across teams. 

• Capable of balancing strategic architectural oversight with hands-on technical execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in multi-technology environments or legacy system modernization. 

• Exposure to cloud-based architecture (Azure or AWS). 

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative development practices.
