Senior Design Engineer Mechanical/Mechatronics

Design Engineer Role Description:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software, and experience working on product development projects (in a job or engineering projects). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, prototyping, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful design and launch of new products.

Responsibilities :

• Lead and collaborate for product development

• Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products using SolidWorks

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements and timelines

• Generate detailed engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes, adhering to industry standards such as ASME Y14.5 for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.100 for Engineering Drawing Practices.

• Participate in design reviews, providing technical input and innovative solutions to complex challenges.

• Work with suppliers to select materials, components, and processes suitable for production.

• Maintain documentation for all design processes and creating design documents.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or related engineering roles

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences

• Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

•     Wiring and harness integration – including mounting brackets, routing paths, and wire cut optimization

•     Sealing for IP ratings – designs include proper gaskets, seals, and form-in-place materials to meet IP-rated protection (e.g., IP54, IP65, IP67)
