1.    Introduction and background

We are looking for a full-time consultant for the role of communications officer for a short-term project. The communications officer will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the project's communication tasks to increase the visibility and awareness of the project with partners, stakeholders, media and the public.

2.    Objectives

The specific objective of this consultancy assignment is to strengthen the visibility and external communication of the project.

3.    Scope of work

The communications officer will work in close collaboration with the Project Team to identify the communication needs for the project and lead other communication team resources to complete the identified communication tasks.

4.    Duties and responsibilities

·      Provide support to the planning and design of communication activities and products.

·      Lead the development of communication products in line with the communication plan and strategy.

·      Ensure the effective implementation of the project's communication plan and strategy.

·      Manage publication activities, such as drafting articles, website content and posts for social media.

·      Supervise or directly handle the website and social media management for the project.

·      Provide inputs for external visibility and outreach for the project and take required outreach actions.

·      Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the communication activities.

5.    Qualifications

·    
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in communication, media, public relations, journalism or related disciplines.

·    
Experience
: At least 2 years of experience and successful track record in the field of communication for development. Experience of work for the development sector or non-profits will be preferred.

·     
Expertise
: Candidates should have experience in strategic communication planning, design of communication products (including text and visual), running advocacy campaigns, managing social media, and dealing with press and civil society.

·      
Other skills
: Fluency in English and Urdu is mandatory.

6.    Duration

The consultancy will be for a period of six (6) months starting from 1 September 2025. It will be a full-time, in-person assignment with possibility of partial remote work based on negotiation with the project team.

7.    Remuneration

The consultant will be paid Rs. 175,000 gross monthly fees subject to the applicable government taxes.
