Job Overview:
The Assistant Manager Fleet Operations will be responsible for overseeing the efficient tracking, monitoring and management of the logistics fleet. This role entails monitoring the fleet, ensuring compliance with company policy, managing relationships with the operation team, and optimizing fleet telematics to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet Operations Management: Oversee daily fleet operations including vehicle tracking, routing, maintenance and trips report to ensure timely and efficient fleet deployment
- Vendor Coordination: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to secure favorable terms for fuel, maintenance, and logistics services.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety audits and providing training to logistics personnel.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise logistics staff, providing training and guidance to enhance performance and compliance with operational procedures.
- Process Optimization: Review and streamline existing logistics processes to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination: Work closely with supply chain, transport, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth logistical operations.
- Real-Time Monitoring: Oversee fleet and shipment movements using tracking systems, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Incident Management: Respond swiftly to delays, emergencies, or unforeseen events affecting logistics operations.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Maintain logs, analyze fleet performance metrics, and generate reports to improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in logistics, fleet management
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in tracking software and logistics management tools.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with effective decision-making.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and logistics best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work in shifts, covering 24/7 operations if required.
