About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Django Developer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in building scalable web applications and APIs. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Django, FastAPI, cloud deployment, third-party integrations, and team leadership.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and leading backend solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, scalability, and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Django and FastAPI.

  • Lead and mentor a small development team, guiding them through design, coding, and deployment.

  • Develop and integrate third-party APIs and services (e.g., payment gateways, CRM, analytics tools, or other SaaS platforms).

  • Build and manage RESTful APIs with best practices in performance, versioning, and security.

  • Implement asynchronous programming (async/await) in Django and FastAPI applications.

  • Manage and optimize databases using Django ORM or SQLAlchemy.

  • Deploy and manage applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).

  • Ensure API and application security, authentication, and data protection best practices.

  • Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams to ensure timely delivery and technical excellence.

  • Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience with Django and Python-based backend development.

  • Proven experience in FastAPI and understanding of asynchronous programming concepts.

  • Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs and external services.

  • Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and ORM frameworks.

  • Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, or equivalent.

  • Good understanding of API security practices and application performance optimization.

  • Prior experience as a team lead or technical mentor in a development team.

  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration.

  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and continuous integration tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

  • Understanding of frontend integration and working with REST/GraphQL APIs.

  • Exposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and code quality assurance tools.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and sprint-based team management.
