We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Head of Medical Billing Department
to lead and oversee all billing and revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
U.S. medical billing
, deep understanding of
payer guidelines, claim management, and denial handling
, and proven leadership experience in managing large billing teams.
The role involves ensuring
accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
across all billing processes, while leading a team toward measurable financial and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and supervise the entire
Medical Billing Department
including charge entry, payment posting, AR follow-ups, and denial management. - Develop and implement
billing strategies, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
to ensure maximum revenue capture. - Monitor
KPIs and performance metrics
(e.g., first-pass resolution rate, days in A/R, clean claim rate). - Conduct
regular audits
of billing and claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. healthcare standards (HIPAA, CMS, etc.). - Coordinate with U.S.-based clients, providers, and payers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Oversee and mentor team leads, providing performance feedback, training, and professional development.
- Collaborate with management to forecast revenue and optimize operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on
U.S. insurance payer rules, coding updates (ICD, CPT, HCPCS),
and compliance requirements. - Manage escalation cases and ensure timely resolution of high-priority billing issues.
- Generate regular
financial and performance reports
for top management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
(preferably in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field). - 5–10 years of experience
in U.S. medical billing and RCM operations, with at least
3 years in a leadership/supervisory role. - Strong understanding of
billing workflows
, EHR/EMR systems, and claim management tools. - Expertise in
denial management, payer communication, and revenue recovery. - Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple teams and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
