Job description

We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Trucking Dispatcher to oversee freight shipments, collaborate with drivers, and ensure timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, multitasking abilities, and outstanding communication skills to facilitate seamless coordination between clients, drivers, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Load Planning & Dispatching: Assign loads to truck drivers based on availability, route optimization, and load priority. Utilize logistics software to minimize empty miles and ensure on-time deliveries. Monitor driver locations, routes, and estimated delivery times.

  2. Communication & Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, brokers, and shippers. Provide drivers with instructions, route details, and necessary documents. Address customer inquiries and resolve shipment-related issues.

  3. Tracking & Reporting: Leverage dispatch software, GPS tracking, and fleet management systems to monitor shipments. Maintain accurate records of dispatch logs, driver hours, and load details. Report delays, breakdowns, or issues to management and implement corrective actions.

  4. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and safety regulations. Maintain driver logs, trip reports, and fuel receipts. Assist in handling insurance claims.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective driver and client interactions

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and problem-solve in real-time

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Proficiency in logistics software and fleet management systems
