Retail Salesperson

The Retail Salesman is responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, ensuring the food display area is well-stocked and clean, and driving sales through excellent customer service. This role involves understanding food products, handling transactions, and maintaining the overall shopping experience within the store.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

· Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding and selecting food products.

· Provide detailed information about products, including ingredients, sourcing, and nutritional benefits.

· Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.

Sales and Promotion

· Drive sales by suggesting additional products and promotions to customers.

· Set up and manage product displays to maximize visibility and sales.

· Conduct product demonstrations and tastings to engage customers and promote new items.

Inventory Management

· Monitor stock levels and restock shelves as needed to ensure product availability.

· Assist in inventory management, including receiving deliveries and checking for accuracy.

· Ensure that all food products are properly labeled with prices and expiration dates.

Store Maintenance

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food display areas and aisles.

· Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe shopping environment.

· Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up displays and securing the store.

Team Collaboration

· Work collaboratively with other store staff to ensure efficient operations.

· Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on products and sales techniques.

· Assist in special promotions, events, and inventory counts as required.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in retail, particularly in the food sector, is an advantage.

Skills:

· Strong customer service and communication skills.

· Basic math skills for handling transactions.

· Knowledge of food products and food safety practices.

· Ability to operate a POS system and other retail equipment.

· Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
