The Quality Control / Assurance Team Leader oversees all aspects of product quality from raw materials to finished garments. This role ensures that all products meet established brand and customer standards for consistency, durability, and workmanship. The position involves close coordination with production teams, suppliers, and quality inspectors to maintain high performance and minimize defects.

1. Set Quality Standards

Define and implement measurable quality benchmarks for fabrics, trims, and garment construction, including fabric weight, stitch density, and finishing details.

Example: Require all T-shirts to use 180 GSM cotton to ensure durability and consistent hand feel.

2. Develop Inspection Processes

Design and maintain detailed inspection checklists for incoming materials, in-line production, and finished goods.

Example: Test each batch of zippers for smooth operation prior to attachment on jackets.

3. Monitor Production Lines

Conduct regular inspections on production floors to confirm that workmanship aligns with approved samples and brand requirements.

Example: Compare stitching quality on production pieces against reference samples to maintain uniformity.

4. Manage Supplier Relationships

Collaborate with vendors to ensure that all raw materials and components comply with agreed specifications related to color, texture, and quality.

Example: Verify each fabric roll for colorfastness and shade matching before cutting begins.

5. Handle Quality Issues & Complaints

Investigate quality problems and product returns, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

Example: Review supplier batches if repeated zipper failures occur and update material standards accordingly.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, test results, and corrective actions to support traceability and quality audits.

Example: Record all issues and resolutions in a centralized log accessible to the production and management teams.

7. Train & Develop Teams

Provide regular training and guidance to QC inspectors and production staff to strengthen quality awareness and compliance.

Example: Conduct monthly workshops focused on identifying stitching inconsistencies and proper correction techniques.

8. Drive Continuous Improvement

Analyze defect trends and customer feedback to refine processes, reduce waste, and improve product consistency.

Example: Introduce an additional mid-production inspection for high-risk fabrics to lower defect rates.
