Role Description

You'll craft high-quality edits and 2D motion assets that promote authors and their books across social and retail platforms. Core outputs include:

  • Short-form video:
    Reels/Shorts, teasers, and trailer cutdowns (9:16, 1:1, 16:9)
  • Design support:
    Book covers (print/digital) and on-brand static posters for social

Key responsibilities

  • Assemble rough/fine cuts from provided footage, VO, and assets; maintain strong hooks and pacing
  • Add captions/subtitles; create clean type animation and light motion graphics
  • Produce alt versions (cutdowns, text/no-text) to suit different placements

Qualifications


1+ year
hands-on video editing for social (agency, in-house, or creator/brand)

Strong portfolio showcasing Reels/Shorts, motion typography, and clean storytelling

Tools:
CapCut
(primary for social edits);
Adobe Photoshop
(book covers);
Adobe After Effects
(2D animation);
Adobe Illustrator
a plus

Solid grasp of aspect ratios, safe areas, compression, and export specs (IG/TikTok/YouTube)

Sense of typography, layout, color, and brand consistency

Organized workflow: tidy timelines, labeled assets, and QC discipline
