Quality Assurance Technical Lead

Overview:

We are seeking a
Technical Lead – QA
who can take full
technical ownership of quality engineering
across web, desktop, mobile, and API platforms. This role demands a strong
hands-on approach to both functional and automation testing
, along with a leadership mindset to guide technical decisions, drive quality strategy, and optimize test coverage across the SDLC.

As a hands-on technical lead, you'll define
how testing is done
, work alongside developers, DevOps, and QA engineers, and ensure a
quality-first approach
from planning to production. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in modern automation frameworks, functional testing excellence, and a passion for leveraging emerging tools including AI to accelerate testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Test Strategy

• Collaborate with QA leadership and engineering teams to define and evolve technical testing strategy.
• Drive implementation of functional and automation testing across UI, API, and integration layers.
• Ensure alignment of test coverage, traceability, and quality gates with business and technical requirements.

Functional Testing (Hands-On)

• Conduct hands-on functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to create detailed, risk-based test scenarios.
• Own validation of critical business flows and edge cases, ensuring end-user quality.

Automation Engineering (Hands-On)

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks using
  Playwright
  (preferred),
  Selenium
  ,
  TestComplete
  , or similar tools.
• Write robust test scripts with a focus on modularity, maintainability, and performance.
• Integrate automated tests with
  CI/CD pipelines
  using tools like
  Azure DevOps
  ,
  GitHub Actions
  , or
  Jenkins
  .
• Enable early automation and shift-left testing practices.

API & Backend Validation

• Perform detailed testing of RESTful APIs using
  Postman
  ,
  REST Assured
  , or custom tools.
• Validate backend processing with complex SQL queries and data integrity checks.

Performance & Reliability Testing

• Support execution and reporting of load/performance testing using
  JMeter
  ,
  NeoLoad
  , etc.
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and observability initiatives for application reliability.

QA Process & Tooling

• Champion implementation of test data management strategies, automated triggers, and environment readiness.
• Explore and introduce
  AI-assisted testing tools
  to enhance coverage and speed.
• Enforce quality standards and testing best practices throughout the SDLC.

Metrics & Reporting

• Track and report test execution progress, defect metrics, and automation coverage.
• Help build dashboards for
  QA KPIs
  using
  Azure DevOps
  ,
  Power BI
  , or similar platforms.

Mentorship & Collaboration

• Act as a
  technical mentor
  to QA Engineers guiding best practices in functional and automation testing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product owners, DevOps, and delivery leads to ensure quality alignment and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years
  of hands-on QA experience, including
  both functional and automation testing
  .
• Proven experience with automation tools:
  Playwright
  (preferred),
  Selenium
  ,
  TestComplete
  , etc.
• Strong functional testing skills across different platforms with ability to test complex business flows.
• Solid experience with
  CI/CD tools
  (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Proficient in
  REST API testing
  and backend validation using
  SQL
  .
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments with tools like
  Jira
  and
  ADO
  .
• Exposure to performance and basic security testing tools is a plus.
• Domain experience in
  Title Insurance
  or
  Insurance
  is highly desirable.
• ISTQB or equivalent certification preferred.
