Asphalt Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Asphalt Engineer
to join our team. The role involves planning, designing, supervising, and ensuring the quality of asphalt pavement works for roads, highways, and other infrastructure projects. The Asphalt Engineer will be responsible for mix design, quality assurance, materials testing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct asphalt mix design in accordance with project requirements and standards (e.g., Marshall, Superpave).
• Supervise asphalt production at batching plants to ensure proper proportions, temperature control, and quality.
• Monitor and control on-site paving operations to ensure smoothness, compaction, and adherence to specifications.
• Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) testing on asphalt materials and aggregates.
• Review and analyze test results, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and consultants to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and compliance certifications.
• Ensure all works comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Provide technical advice and training to junior engineers and site staff.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of
  3–7 years' experience
  in asphalt pavement design, production, and construction.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt mix design methods (Marshall, Superpave, etc.) and pavement performance.
• Hands-on experience with asphalt plants, paving equipment, and laboratory testing.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS/EN, local specifications).
• Proficient in MS Office and pavement design software (e.g., AASHTOWare, Kenpave).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
