Job Title: Janitor / Office Cleaner
Department: Administration
Reports To: Admin Executive
Location: Skylift Marketing, CEMTECH, NUST, H-12 Islamabad
Position Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for the overall cleanliness, hygiene, and upkeep of Skylift Marketing's office premises. The role includes daily cleaning, pantry maintenance, waste management, and general support to ensure a neat, safe, and pleasant working environment for all employees and visitors.
Detailed Responsibilities:
1. Office Cleaning & Maintenance
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum all office floors, corridors, and entryways daily.
- Dust and wipe down desks, tables, chairs, workstations, doors, and shelves.
- Clean and polish glass doors, windows, and partitions.
- Remove cobwebs, clean air vents, and ensure no dust accumulation on high surfaces.
- Clean wall spots, switchboards, and skirting where necessary.
- Keep the reception area, meeting rooms, and waiting areas neat and presentable at all times.
- Clean and maintain staircases and lobby areas (if applicable).
- Wipe down and sanitize high-touch areas (door handles, switches, tabletops) regularly.
2. Pantry & Kitchen Area
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the office pantry and kitchenette.
- Clean and wipe kitchen counters, shelves, and sinks after use.
- Refill and organize pantry supplies such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, disposable cups, and tissues.
- Clean refrigerator, microwave, and other pantry appliances weekly.
- Ensure pantry storage remains tidy and properly stocked.
- Assist office boys in restocking refreshments for meetings or guests.
3. Washrooms
- Clean and disinfect washrooms daily.
- Refill and maintain supplies such as tissue rolls, hand soap, and air fresheners.
- Mop and sanitise floors and wash basins.
- Check for leaks, broken fixtures, or low supplies and report promptly to Admin.
4. Waste Management
- Collect and dispose of all office waste, paper, and packaging daily.
- Ensure waste bins are emptied, cleaned, and lined with fresh garbage bags.
- Maintain separation of recyclable and non-recyclable waste where applicable.
- Ensure proper disposal in designated external bins or collection points.
5. Equipment & Supplies Maintenance
- Keep all cleaning tools (mops, brooms, vacuum, etc.) clean and in working order.
- Report any malfunction or damage immediately to the Admin department.
- Maintain stock of cleaning materials and request replenishment in advance.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and store them in assigned areas.
6. Event & General Support
- Assist in arranging chairs, tables, and décor for meetings or in-office events.
- Help serve refreshments during meetings or gatherings when required.
- Support minor office maintenance tasks (e.g., changing bulbs, lifting/moving furniture).
- Cooperate with the Admin team during deep-cleaning, pest control, or special maintenance days.
7. Professional Conduct
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and proper uniform during work hours.
- Handle office property carefully and report any damages immediately.
- Respect staff privacy and maintain confidentiality regarding office activities.
- Follow safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards as instructed by Admin.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant janitorial or office cleaning experience.
- Familiarity with cleaning tools, materials, and safe handling procedures.
- Reliable, honest, and able to work independently under supervision.
- Physically fit and able to perform cleaning tasks throughout the day.
- Team player with a respectful and cooperative attitude.
Working Hours:
- Full-time (as per office hours) – 12 hours daily.
- May occasionally assist after hours for events, maintenance, or special cleaning.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: Rs30, Rs35,000.00 per month
