Head of Environment, Health, and Safety

Job Purpose:

To lead the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) function across all mining and processing operations of
Globa Core Metals Ltd
. This position will ensure regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, safe working conditions, and implementation of a proactive safety culture aligned with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies, policies, and procedures for all operational areas.
• Ensure compliance with national HSE laws, mining safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits across mine sites and processing facilities.
• Establish training programs to build HSE awareness and competence among employees and contractors.
• Oversee incident reporting and investigation processes to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental impact of operations, including water usage, waste disposal, and emissions.
• Coordinate emergency response plans and drills in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Engage with regulatory bodies and prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance reports.
• Lead a team of HSE professionals and collaborate with operational leaders to embed safety into daily routines.
• Continuously monitor and improve HSE performance metrics and safety culture indicators.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) preferred.
• 12-15 years of experience in HSE roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Strong understanding of HSE challenges in remote mining operations and gold processing environments.
