The PLC Manager
is responsible for overseeing the successful implementation and quality assurance of PLC (Professional Learning Community) sessions and SLG (School Learning Group) sessions across assigned schools. This includes scheduling, allocation, monitoring, and evaluation of PLC and SLG sessions, ensuring alignment with the program's strategic goals and pedagogical standards.

PLCs are cross-school collaborative groups that connect teachers teaching the same grade level across different schools. These groups reflect on classroom practices, exchange ideas, and explore new teaching strategies together. The group meets online once a month with around five teachers. These 60–75-minute sessions are peer-led, with facilitator roles rotating among group members.

SLGs take place within the school or cluster of nearby schools every two weeks for 30 to 45 minutes during the school day. The sessions help check in on progress with learning modules, clarify content, and support one another. Each SLG session follows a structured agenda and is led by a rotating facilitator, with a Systems Manager present to track assessment completion and assist with any tech-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
• Scheduling and Allocation

  • Develop a timetable and course outline for PLC and SLG sessions, considering internal and external factors such as teacher timetables and availability.
  • Allocate teachers to relevant PLC and SLG groups.
  • Communicate directly with teachers, leaders, and the instructional design team.

• Training and Onboarding

  • Ensure that teachers understand the structure and requirements of the program.
  • Develop and adapt manuals, activities, toolkits, and training materials in collaboration with the instructional design team.

• Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Monitor attendance, quality, and active participation for each PLC/SLG.
  • Monitor fidelity of PLC/SLG implementation across schools.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from facilitators and participants.
  • Provide feedback on module effectiveness and suggest contextual adaptations.
  • Provide timely reports to the leadership team on progress, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with teachers regarding PLC quality.
  • Monitor effective rotation of facilitator/timekeeper during PLC/SLG sessions.

• Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with school leadership to schedule sessions and secure logistics.
  • Liaise with school leaders to ensure school-level support for PLC activities.
  • Coordinate with the Systems Manager to ensure accurate tracking of sessions and attendance at SLGs.
  • Represent the PLC program in internal and external stakeholder meetings when needed.

• Relationship Building

  • Build and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with facilitators, school leaders, and other stakeholders to foster a positive culture of continuous professional learning.

• Innovation and Community Building
