Job Title: Senior Data & Backend Engineer – Healthcare Technology Platform

Job Type: Full-time (Remote)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data & Backend Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, developing, and evolving our data-driven healthcare platform. This is a hybrid role that combines the expertise of backend engineering and data analytics to build scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that empower innovation in the healthcare industry. You will be instrumental in shaping our core platform architecture, managing data infrastructure, and integrating AI-driven insights for smarter decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, and maintain the core components of our SaaS-based healthcare platform with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
• Build and maintain distributed systems, message queues, caching mechanisms, and databases.
• Architect and implement robust APIs (RESTful, GraphQL) to enable seamless integration across internal and external systems.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools such as Terraform or Pulumi to automate and optimize infrastructure management.

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models to ensure accurate and efficient data flow across systems.
• Utilize BigQuery, Looker (LookML), and data frameworks to extract insights, create dashboards, and support business intelligence initiatives.
• Integrate Generative AI capabilities to enhance automation, data analysis, and predictive decision-making.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA/PHI).

Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Identify and resolve system performance bottlenecks and ensure high system reliability.
• Contribute to process optimization, code reviews, and best practice improvements across development and data teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, analytics, and operations) to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of combined experience in backend and data engineering roles.
• Proven ability to design, build, and deploy scalable and reliable systems in production environments.
• Expertise in Python and experience with FASTApi (required).
• Proficiency in SQL and one or more NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools, data pipelines, and data warehouse/lake solutions.
• Experience in Looker (LookML), BigQuery, and cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Familiarity with Generative AI applications in data processing is a plus.
• Experience in the healthcare domain is strongly preferred.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment.
