About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious PTW SAW Machine Operator (PTW: Permit to Work) to operate our Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) equipment. This role is vital for fabrication processes within our high-risk workshop environment, supporting major
SABIC
and
ARAMCO
projects. The ideal candidate will not only be an expert in SAW operations but will also have an ingrained understanding of the critical safety protocols required for working under a Permit to Work system in the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) machinery efficiently and safely, strictly adhering to all conditions specified in the Permit to Work (PTW) for high-risk tasks.
• Interpret engineering drawings and project specifications to determine welding requirements, ensuring all work complies with AWS D1.1 standards.
• Work exclusively within the guidelines of issued PTW, ensuring all safety isolations, risk assessments, and control measures are understood and followed before commencing any task.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on SAW equipment, ensuring it is safe to operate and meets all required standards.
• Collaborate with safety officers and supervisors to ensure a safe working environment, promptly reporting any hazards or deviations from the PTW.
• Maintain accurate records of welding parameters, inspections, and PTW documentation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: ITI in Mechanical or a Diploma in Mechanical .
• Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of hands-on experience as a SAW Machine Operator, specifically within the PEB domain or heavy steel fabrication.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficient knowledge of Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) processes and techniques.

• Must have proven experience working under a formal Permit to Work (PTW) system, ideally within an oil and gas or petrochemical environment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and welding symbols.

• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 standards.

• Attributes: Must be highly safety-aware, reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
