Introduction

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Pharmacist.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to dispense drugs in the inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory pharmacies including:

  • reviewing and processing of physician orders for accurate therapeutic dose.
  • monitoring lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics, drug-drug interaction, duplication of same class etc.
  • ensuring timely delivery of medication to nursing units and patients.
  • ensuring the accuracy of the label before dispensing.
  • accurate and timely completion of expiry drug list.
  • assisting in patient counseling for outpatient prescription and maintenance of cash.
  • preparing cytotoxic drug, TPN solution, IVPB mixtures etc.
  • preparing sterile injection, bulk compounding and monitoring of chemo critical list.

Requirements

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy from a recognized University.
  • Professional registration with Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.
  • One year traineeship in a medium / large hospital OR preferably 1 - 2 year's experience as a Pharmacist.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning.
  • Sound knowledge of Physiology, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical.
  • Familiarity with locally available drugs, pharmaceutical and their indications.
  • Ability to communicate with medical professionals.
