Structural Drafter

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural drawings, including general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, and fabrication drawings based on engineer designs and project specifications.
• Ensure all drawings are compliant with relevant building codes, standards, and project requirements specific to the Dubai and UAE regions.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and other disciplines such as MEP, civil, and architectural teams to resolve design discrepancies and incorporate revisions effectively.
• Maintain and update drawing records, revisions, and drawing registers throughout the lifecycle of projects, including the preparation of as-built drawings post-construction.
• Provide technical support to on-site teams by clarifying drawing details and assisting with the preparation of shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and fabrication details.
• Utilize advanced CAD software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Plant 3D to produce accurate structural details and support clash detection efforts with software like Navisworks.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals, particularly relating to MEP and HVAC system components and their integration into structural designs.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, clarity, and quality in all technical documentation and drawings submitted to clients and project stakeholders.
• Follow company drafting standards, operating procedures, and client-specific requirements to ensure consistency and professionalism in all deliverables.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to ensure the delivery of drawings within established project timelines and deadlines.
• Apply advanced mathematical and analytical skills to interpret architectural and engineering drawings accurately and to support complex design scenarios.
• Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates, explanations, and technical clarifications.
• Adapt to evolving project requirements and workflows within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality or deadlines.
• Keep abreast of the latest industry standards, software updates, and best practices relevant to structural drafting and engineering documentation.
