Position: Data Engineer (Hybrid)

Location: PIA Society, C Block, Johar Town, Lahore

Timings: 10:00 AM – 07:00 PM

Experience: 3+ years

Education: Bachelor's (or higher) in Software Engineering (SE), Computer Science (CS), Data Engineering, or Information Technology (IT)

About the Role

We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing engineering team, working on high-throughput, real-time data systems. You'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that fuel our AI-driven products and analytics platforms.

This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration and remote flexibility — ideal for professionals who want to work on cutting-edge data infrastructure while maintaining work-life balance. You'll collaborate with developers, data scientists, and architects to ensure data flows seamlessly, securely, and efficiently across systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize real-time or high-throughput data pipelines.
  • Build and maintain APIs and data services (GraphQL, RESTful, WebSockets).
  • Integrate and manage data streaming platforms like Kafka (or equivalent).
  • Work with AWS or Azure cloud services — such as Kinesis, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and Redshift — to build scalable data ecosystems.
  • Implement and maintain data lakes, NoSQL databases, and efficient schema designs for high-performance queries.
  • Generate, process, and parse structured/unstructured data (JSON, XML, CSV).
  • Monitor, debug, and optimize data flow for performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify trends, patterns, and insights from real-time data.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security throughout all processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer working with real-time or large-scale data systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (C++ is a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with GraphQL, WebSockets, and RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency in data streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, or similar.
  • Cloud experience with AWS or Azure data services.
  • Solid knowledge of data lakes, NoSQL databases, and schema design principles.
  • Experience handling structured/unstructured data formats (XML, JSON).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends in real-time data.
  • A self-starter attitude with eagerness to collaborate across disciplines.
