ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
These jobs are found in WFP warehouses and operating under close supervision of a Senior Storekeeper/ Logistics Assistant - Officer
JOB PURPOSE:
To support the efficient receipt, dispatch, and verification of commodities, ensuring optimal warehouse operations, minimizing losses, and promoting best practices in storage management in line with WFP standards and
guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Commodity Handling:
Facilitate the receipt and dispatch of commodities, including transshipment (truck-to-truck), ensuring accurate physical counts and quality checks against approved documentation (e.g., waybills, delivery notes).
Documentation & Records:
Prepare, verify, and maintain warehouse and transport documents. Ensure accurate record- keeping and timely reporting of commodity movements in compliance with corporate requirements.
Inventory Management: Inventory Management:
Support daily reconciliation of warehouse transactions and conduct regular inventory checks to ensure compliance with WFP warehouse management protocols.
Quality Control & Reporting:
Conduct daily inspections and report on the quantity and quality of commodities received, dispatched, or handled. Escalate issues to supervisors for appropriate action.
Safeguarding Commodities:
Implement preventive measures to protect food and non-food items, ensuring quality control in accordance with WFP procedures and supervisor authorization.
Warehouse Maintenance:
Monitor warehouse conditions and commodity storage practices. Take necessary actions to optimize space utilization and maintain organized, hygienic storage in line with WFP standards.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
- Experience monitoring various aspects of logistics operations.
- Experience in supporting warehouse management.
- Experience in supporting inventory management.
- Experience in data entry and extracting routine reports.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of secondary school education.
Experience
Minimum 3 years in logistics, warehouse operations, or related fields.
Language:
Fluency in Urdu and English (written and spoken).
