Senior Hydrogeologist

Location

  • Chagai, Balochistan

Qualification

  • Minimum Bachelor's in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geophysics, or related Earth Sciences.

Experience

  • 47 years in groundwater exploration, development, or mine hydrogeology

Requirements

  • Strong field experience in drilling, well construction, aquifer testing, and hydrogeological investigations
  • Proficient in aquifer testing software (AQTESOLV, Aquifer Test)
  • Skilled in GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • Experience in contractor supervision and performance monitoring
  • Knowledge of water balance modeling and groundwater data management
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for budgeting and reporting

Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination abilities

  • Commitment to HSE practices and QA/QC standards

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and optimize water supply schemes aligned with project goals
  • Design and supervise production and monitoring wells, including construction specs
  • Conduct and analyze step-drawdown, constant rate, and recovery tests
  • Manage all phases of hydrogeological investigations and data analysis
  • Develop and calibrate site-wide water balance models
  • Ensure accurate sampling and data integrity during testing
  • Build and maintain conceptual and numerical groundwater models
  • Manage hydrogeological databases and reporting systems
  • Prepare technical scopes of work and evaluate contractor proposals
  • Coordinate with internal departments (EHS, Procurement, Admin, Security)
  • Track project budgets and support financial reporting
  • Apply project management tools to meet milestones and mitigate risks
  • Supervise and mentor junior hydrogeologists and field teams
  • Maintain inventory of drilling materials and support procurement planning
  • Compile regular technical reports and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support community engagement through hydrogeological input on water initiatives
