Qualification

  • Certification or training in the operation of heavy equipment.

Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience operating roller compactors, preferably in mining, construction, or road-building projects.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license mandatory.
  • Proficiency in operating different types of roller compactors, such as smooth drum, padfoot, and tandem rollers.
  • Strong understanding of soil types, compaction techniques, and materials.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues in the equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety guidelines for operating heavy machinery in industrial and mining environments.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work long hours in outdoor and remote conditions.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Operate roller compactors to compact soil, asphalt, and other materials in compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Inspect the roller compactor before and after operations to ensure it is in proper working condition.
  • Monitor compaction levels during operations and adjust settings as needed to achieve desired results.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts, to ensure the smooth functioning of the machine.
  • Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Work closely with other operators, site supervisors, and engineers to coordinate activities and ensure efficient site operations.
  • Adhere to RDMC safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep daily logs of work completed, equipment usage, and any incidents or delays encountered.
  • Ensure proper loading and transportation of the roller compactor to various work locations within the SITE.
