Role Overview:
The Senior Process Engineer in Process Operations leads the modification developments/projects, optimization, and troubleshooting of process systems across Oil & gas facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations by applying advanced engineering principles, driving continuous improvement, and supporting green/brown field projects/developments. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues, enhance production performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The position also plays a key role in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to strategic initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead process design review and optimization efforts for operations.
- Develop and review process engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, and process simulations for existing facilities and new developments.
- Support in technical evaluations and feasibility studies for new technologies, process modifications, and debottlenecking opportunities.
- Provide expert troubleshooting support for process-related issues impacting safety, efficiency, or production targets.
- Support HAZOP, SIL, and other process safety reviews, ensuring risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with project teams during FEED, detailed design, and commissioning phases to ensure process integrity and operability.
- Analyze plant performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO) and environmental regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, operating procedures, and documentation for process changes and improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical training and knowledge sharing within the department.
- Interface with operations, maintenance, HSE, and external stakeholders to align process solutions with business objectives.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor / Master's in Chemical Engineering.
- 10-12 years of related experience, preferably in an Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Company.
- Having design & commissioning of Gas Processing plants, Condensate Stabilization, LPG/ LNG experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral presentation and fluency in English language.
- Leadership qualities with an ability to influence decisions.
- Ability to motivate and support direct reports.
- Multitasking, self-starter and able to take initiatives and capable of achieving results.
- Effective dealing of complex tasks & situations.
- A team-player with strong communication skills.
- Ability to analyze multiple sources of data, make connections & create high quality solutions.
