Position OverviewThe Head of IT leads the global technology function across all Nysonian facilities (U.S., Mexico, Pakistan, and China), overseeing infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, cloud systems, and digital transformation initiatives. This role blends strategic planning and hands-on leadership—driving secure, scalable systems that enable business growth, automation, and operational excellence across manufacturing, fulfillment, and corporate environments.
The Head of IT partners closely with all teams to ensure technology supports both day-to-day reliability and long-term innovation.
Key ResponsibilitiesIT Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the company's multi-year IT roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Lead IT planning for new facilities, expansions, and acquisitions.
- Establish governance for cybersecurity, infrastructure standards, and technology lifecycle management.
- Build and mentor a global IT team spanning network, systems, and support functions.
- Oversee IT budgeting, vendor management, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Own the global cybersecurity program: endpoint protection, network security, access controls, and vulnerability management.
- Implement and maintain SOC, MFA, and SIEM frameworks as appropriate for business scale.
- Manage security audits, incident response, and compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
Conduct regular security awareness training for employees with user participation, pass/fail, etc.
- Architect and maintain a secure, redundant, and scalable IT infrastructure across all sites.
- Maintain Synology Surveillance Station (camera monitoring, alerts, redundancy)
- Administer Synology NAS for backups and file sharing
- Manage and monitor enterprise-grade firewalls, SD-WANs, and VPN connectivity
- Install, configure, maintain, and oversee cloud and on-prem hybrid systems, including Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO) and NAS storage.
- Deploy, maintain, and ensure reliable, high-speed connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi) across warehouses, factories, and offices.
- Direct structured cabling, server installation, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Manage biometric systems and access control across all sites.
- Support planned migrations (email/hosting, AD, cloud integration).
- Oversee business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) planning and testing.
- Configure and maintain LAN/Wi-Fi infrastructure, including Cisco switches and Omada-managed APs.
- Administer and optimize multi-ISP connectivity with redundancy, load balancing, and failover.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, ISP, VPN, etc) globally.
- Assist the Automation team in the migration and management of enterprise applications (e.g., Google Workspace, ERP, PLM, WMS) as needed.
- Partner with the Automation team and business teams to integrate SaaS tools, automate workflows, and ensure data security.
- Manage identity and access management across platforms and environments.
Evaluate emerging technologies (AI/ML, automation, IoT) for operational efficiency.
- Support the customer support LAN to ensure uninterrupted VoIP operations.
- Coordinate with vendors and external service providers for IT projects and issue resolution.
- Oversee IT service delivery and helpdesk operations across time zones.
- Define SLAs, escalation processes, and KPIs for uptime, incident response, and user satisfaction.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and lifecycle management (hardware, software, licensing).
- Ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding processes and remote access for global employees.
- Lead installation and rollout of new servers, LAN networks, and endpoint devices.
- Set up Windows-based server environments with centralized policies and authentication.
- Ensure proper documentation of network diagrams, cabling layouts, and server configurations.
- Conduct system upgrades, patching, and preventive maintenance.
- Provide remote support for non-technical staff in overseas offices.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and HR for system rollouts and facility expansions.
- Provide executive reporting on IT performance, risk posture, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with local teams in Mexico, Pakistan, China, and the U.S. to ensure global system consistency
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in system administration and network engineering.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet preferred), VPNs, SD-WAN.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server installation & administration (AD, DNS, DHCP).
- Proven experience with LAN/WAN deployments, structured cabling, and Wi-Fi setups.
- Experience with Surveillance Systems (NVR/VMS) and NAS storage solutions.
- Familiarity with Email hosting (cPanel/Google Workspace).
- Strong troubleshooting skills (network, hardware, software).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and provide remote IT support.
- Excellent communication skills for working with international teams.
- Prior work in a multi-site/global IT setting
- Certifications: CCNA/CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Security+/Network+.
- Experience with Cisco switches and Omada Controller.
- Knowledge of IT asset management systems (Excel-based or software).
